私儀、このたび財団法人日印協会の理事に選任され、7月1日付で着任いたしました。
日印協会は1903年（明治36年）、大隈重信侯爵らによって組織された法人（外務省所管）で、「日本○○○協会」と名の付く同様の団体のなかでは最も長い歴史を誇ります.。
現会長は森喜朗さん（第85代・第86代内閣総理大臣）、理事長は平林博さん（元駐インド日本大使）。
理事には鈴木修さん（スズキ会長兼社長）、張富士夫さん（トヨタ自動車会長）、岡素之さん（住友商事会長）、坂根正弘さん（小松製作所会長）、中村維夫さん（NTTドコモ相談役）などなど。
多士済々が並ぶその末席に、誠に僭越ではありますが名を連ねさせていただきます。
インドは日本の外交戦略上、きわめて重要な位置に立つ大国です。
世界最大の民主国家であると同時に、屈指の親日国でもあります。
日印両国の友好関係を深めるため、微力ではありますがこれまで以上に全力で臨む所存ですので、今後ともなにとぞお力添えの程をよろしくお願い申し上げます。
協会主催のイベントも色々ございますので、随時お知らせしてまいりたいと思います。

Dear All,
I feel greatly privileged to inform you that recently I've been appointed
to Director, the Japan-India Association, effective July 1, 2010.
The Japan-India Association is a historic institution which was established in 1903 by marquess of Shigenobu Okuma, the 17th Prime Minister of Japan.
The current president of the association, Mr. Yoshiro Mori, was the 85th and 86th Prime Minister of Japan, and the administrative
director, Mr. Hiroshi Hirabayashi, was the former Japanese Ambassador to India.
Other directors whom I am working with are: Mr. Osamu Suzuki, chairman
of Suzuki Motor Co.; Mr. Fujio Cho, chairman of Toyota Motor Co.; Mr. Masao
Nakamura, Executive Adviser of NTT Docomo; and more.
I would like to plan and carry out a lot of fun and meaningful events for India-Japan relationship in the coming years. So, please watch out!
